Looking forward to things October 27, 2013

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kristi @ 9:46 pm

“Oh, Marilla, looking forward to things is half the pleasure of them,” exclaimed Anne. “You mayn’t get the things themselves; but nothing can prevent you from having the fun of looking forward to them. Mrs. Lynde says, ‘Blessed are they who expect nothing for they shall not be disappointed.’ But I think it would be worse to expect nothing than to be disappointed.” (from Anne Of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery)

Oh yes, how boring life would be without looking forward to things! From the little things, such as wondering what dishes will be on offer for lunch in the cafeteria today, to planning and looking forward to upcoming joys such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the thrill of looking forward to finding out what turns life will take. Anticipation brightens even a dull and gray November Monday like today!
