They should learn from the weeds—

Pushing through the pavement cracks,

smart, tough. Keeping at it, staying green.

(from Tap Dancing on the Roof: Sijo Poems by Linda Sue Park “Botany Lesson”)

Sorry this is a day late. I tried and tried to post last night but Internet Explorer kept closing without warning or explanation. Frustrating. I had some thoughts based on this quote. I know it had something to do with the gardens in our minds and how the good thoughts have to be cultivated and nurtured to grow and take over but the bad thoughts have a weedlike way of growing with no care. That’s why you have to keep pulling up those mind-weeds. And keep watering those mind-flowers. Of course, last night I had some super eloquent way of saying this that has now completely deserted me. Oh, well.

I like it just the same. And you should try Mozilla Firefox. It’s much better than Explorer, and it’s free.
