“Oh, honey, we’ve all dampened a pillow in our day. There’s no shame in crying.” She handed Ruby a tissue. (from Love, Ruby Lavender by Deborah Wiles)
Oh my goodness–what a week! It’s only Tuesday and we’ve already had a printer die (in the middle of printing invoices), a pipe under the bathroom sink break, and the radiator of a truck crack down the middle. There is also a chocolate stain in my mother’s lace tablecloth that I cannot remove. It is what Anne of Green Gables called “a Jonah day.” But, you know what else? It’s only Tuesday and I’ve already had lunch with a dear friend who is back home after two years in Japan, enjoyed a great local restaurant on its first day under the ownership of a fellow MOPS mom, finished a good read by Deborah Wiles, held my nephew (who still smells new), set up a tea party lunch for a friend and her daughters, gotten a new printer for free, gone swimming with Benjamin, and survived spin class.
Yes, we’ve all dampened a pillow in our day, but we all have so many reasons to smile. Even on Jonah days.
