Closing the gate on her oldest fears as she had closed the gate of her own fenced yard, she discovered the wings she’d always wished she had. (from Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt)

I have sat and stared at this quote and tried to think of what I could add; what thoughts of mine could possibly elaborate on something so beautiful? It’s one of those times when so much is stirred up within me that I feel I should be able to write an essay on the subject, but the words will not come. Natalie Babbitt already said it. Just read it. And then read it again. I don’t know if it will touch anyone else the way it touches me. But read it again.
