“It is ever so much easier to be good if your clothes are fashionable.” (from Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery)
Isn’t it amazing how much more productive you can be if you get dressed? How much do you really accomplish on days when you stay in your pajama pants till noon? After about three weeks of being a sluggish stay-at-home mom, I set a goal of putting on clothes and makeup every day, even if I knew I wasn’t going out of the house. Amazingly, I started doing more in the house when I was dressed to go out of the house. So here is a flu/allergy/cold season challenge: if you don’t feel your best when you wake up in the morning, try dressing better than usual. And put on lipstick (if you’re a woman…or a man who’s into that, I guess). See if it makes you feel better, and do better. If you want to go all out, wear puffed sleeves (just kidding!). And if it doesn’t work, and you still feel sluggish, put your pjs on and curl up with some chicken soup and a good book. Might I suggest a little Anne of Green Gables?
